Once again I would like to thank our customers, partners, and employees for a great year. It looks like we will close the year with our Contracted Monthly Subscription Revenue being double what it was at the beginning of the year. Knowing that this was achieved without outside investors (in other words without burning through cash), rather solely through hard work by our customers, partners, and employees, is truly amazing. Thank you for believing in us, letting us improve your efficiencies, and helping you through these difficult economic times.

As announced previously, in addition to helping your efficiency through automation, we are continuing to strive to improve your effectiveness through collaboration. Our next version of CPQ will be integrated with our collaboration software, CallidusCloud WorkFlow, opening virtually limitless possibilities.

Yet, that's not all... In addition to enabling greater collaboration for your employees, partners, and customers, we are also adding lead generation capabilities. Integrating our software into your website will allow you to convert your website visitors into valuable leads.


Webcom, Inc. Announces New Release of WebSource CPQ (Configuration, Pricing, Quotation & Proposal) V8.0

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, September 15, 2009 - Webcom, Inc., the leader in simplified quote-to-order enablement for the selling of complex products and services, announced today the availability of version 8.0 of its market leading WebSource CPQ (Configuration, Pricing, Quotation & Proposal) solution. The new release continues to demonstrate the leadership Webcom brings to the market in terms of both end-user capabilities and administration ease of use, set-up and ongoing maintenance.

"Product options continue to become more complex and sales reps are under increasing competitive pressures to satisfy the needs of their customers immediately," said Aleks Ivanovic, CEO and founder of Webcom, Inc. "This requires not only a transaction platform, but a collaboration platform, as well. With WebSource CPQ, collaboration is a snap: sales professionals can now send quotes to their customers, where they will be able to view the quote, accept the quote, reject the quote, or request changes."

Based on client feedback, requests and implementation work done with our CRM partners, WebSource CPQ V8.0 provides significant new user and administrative enhancements. The new user and administrative enhancements are focused in areas that include collaboration, social networks, flexibility and administration ease of use, such as:

  • Communication and collaboration with users through Webcom's customer portal
  • Request and/or vote for new features, give us feedback, learn what is new in upcoming releases, etc.
  • Customer Quote Collaboration and Acceptance
  • "Go Green", send a link to your quote/proposal. Enable collaboration with your customer (accept or reject the quote, request changes, etc.). Reduce the sales cycle by automatically notifying your users when the quote/proposal is being viewed.
  • Social Networks in Product Pages
  • Include Facebook product review widget in product details page. Facilitate product reviews, create buzz about your products, bring "community" to your products and services.
  • Attribute Container
  • Allow for dynamic expansion of sets of attributes in an easy, intuitive way, such as servers in a rack or dependents on an insurance plan.
  • Unlimited custom fields for users and customers
  • Product setup wizard enhancements
  • Spanish and French translations

"The new release of V8 of WebSource CPQ has refined the Product Setup Wizard (PSW) from the initial release of this wizard in V6," said Robert Fill, Marketing Information Specialist at ABB. Milwaukee, Wisconsin, November 16, 2009 - Webcom, Inc., the leader in simplified quote-to-order enablement for the selling of complex products and services, announced today the availability of version 8.1 of its market leading WebSource CPQ (Configuration, Pricing, Quotation & Proposal) solution. The new release continues to demonstrate the leadership Webcom brings to the market in terms of both end-user capabilities and administration ease of use, set-up and ongoing maintenance.

"Version 8.1 adds unique and innovative enhancements to what was already the strongest solution set in the industry," said Aleks Ivanovic, CEO and founder of Webcom, Inc.   • Messages can be used to enforce product business rules because if displayed, they may render product incomplete
  • Enhanced integration with Oracle CRM OnDemand R16 allowing use of attachment API
  • Additional API methods makes integration to fulfillment systems even easier and more flexible
  • Continued adoption of WebSource CPQ in the enterprise results in enhanced vertical and horizontal scalability
  • Japanese and German translations

The LIST Tag

The newly developed LIST tag allows multiple entries to be returned from a table.

While it may seem adequate to return just one value from a table based on some specified conditions; for example, returning the price of a product based on the part number, the new LIST tag that returns multiple values expands your range of possibilities.

Let's take a look at this scenario:

Your business could use a standard table lookup to get the on-site consulting fees for one of your services based on the service provided, Duration, number of participants and the destination state. You would typical create a table with Service, Duration, Participants, State and Fees as available columns. Now, with the new LIST tag, you could get the full list of available on-site services for the state a user selects. This list can then be used for upsells or to create rules (as explained below).

Inspired by the LIST tag narrated above, the new revolutionary tags, xDisallawValues, xAllowValues and xDisallowAllValuesExcept tags along with the <*SetListSeparator()*>, take rules execution to a whole new level.

Using a combination of these new tags, product rules can now defined based on your Excel pricing sheet (or any other custom table).

In the scenario illustrated above, you can now create a new product called 'On-site Services,' that covers all the states you sell to, literally a few minutes.

First, you create the product and define the availale atributes (like State, Service, Duration and Number of Participants)

Then in the Rules section, you create three rules using the xDisallowAllValuesExcept tag:

First, When a State is selected, allow applicable Services only and disallow the rest

Next, When a Service is selected, allow applicable Durations only and disallow the rest

Lastly, When a Duration is selected, allow applicable Number of participants only and disallow the rest

The Duration and Number of Participant attributes can be ranges like 1 - 3 days, or any of CPQs suite of free input boxes (Exact, Match Upper, Set Match Upper, etc).

Here is a typical syntax of one of the new tags:

These new CPQ tags can knock off weeks of implementation time as your existing tables can now be used to power your product rules.
